Based on Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust after-treatment technology, the robust solution is designed for the toughest of marine conditions whilst ensuring high engine power and efficiency and reduction in NOx ouput by up to 75%.
The Volvo Penta IMO III solution has been successfully powering a wide range of demanding marine commercial applications since its commercial release in 2018. The OSG 204 articulated barge, operated by the Overseas Shipholding Group, is one such example of the ability of Volvo Penta to deliver sustainable and efficient power solutions that meet EPA Tier 3 and International Maritime Organization III emissions level. Built by Greenbrier Marine, Oregon, the OSG 204 can operate in both U.S. and international waters in a fuel-efficient, reliable and sustainable manner.
